Building Blocks for Smart Lighting Designs

September 22-24, 2015 | Bregenz | Austria

Lighting system design based on LED and OLED technologies is challenging. Preferred solutions have to incorporate the latest technologies, smart systems, new standards, advanced functionalities and new user behaviors. Therefore, successful solutions require a holistic design and engineering approach.

The symposium covers LED and OLED lighting system technologies for luminaries, lamps, modules and components. It focuses on new system approaches, new components, equipment and up-to-date design methodologies. Attendees will be inspired to create new designs and to transform innovations to the next levels.

The LpS 2015 is Europe’s foremost LED & OLED lighting technology event for people in industry and research who are involved in the design and engineering for future LED lighting systems in the fields of general, industrial and architectural lighting. The combination of a three-day multi-disciplined symposium, a workshop program, networking possibilities, and an international exhibition is a perfect opportunity to explore sophisticated semiconductor lighting.

"Design meets Technology" Day

With the large scale uptake of solid state lighting, a closer collaboration and dialogue between engineers and technicians as well as lighting designers, planners and architects is essential to drive innovations, effect fundamental changes and generate demand for new technologies.

For the first time, the LED professional Symposium +Expo 2015 offers a "Design meets Technology" bridge - as a collaboration and discussion platform to answer questions such as: How these new technologies really work? What are the main requirements of the different applications? How should lighting control work under different conditions etc.

The Symposium will be opened with a keynote by Rogier van der Heide, international well-known lighting designer presenting on the topics of smart controls, Internet Of Things, Human Centric Lighting - the building blocks for smart lighting designs.

Lighting Designers, Architects, Lighting Planners, System/Control Planners will then be guided through the Expo on a "Design meets Technology" tour, learning about state of the art technologies from the light source until system integration with demonstrations and latest products showcased by global leading companies such as Nichia, Cree, Samsung, Osram, Philips Lumileds, Everlight, Seoul Semiconductor etc.  This will be followed by breakout sessions with in depth discussions about aspects of the lighting value chain between designers, exhibitors and engineers.

The 'Design meets Technology' day will be held on 22nd September 2015 at the Festspielhaus Bregenz. The 'Visitor Pass' includes the Opening session (keynotes), walkthrough tour and breakout sessions as well as the evening events - Oktoberfest, poster session and product launches.
