Samsung LED Business is a widely-recognized global producer of advanced, high efficiency LED components, and a leader in innovative solutions for IoT-enabled lighting platforms. Supporting diverse applications and numerous industries, Samsung is one of very few vertically integrated LED manufacturers whose product quality and technical competitiveness contribute to delivering well differentiated value to customers and partners. With industry-leading technology, Samsung offers LED-based lighting solutions in the form of backlight units for display panels, exterior and dashboard lighting for automotive applications, and a wide diversity of lighting packages, and engines with or without integrated optics and drivers.
Seoul Semiconductor (http://www.SeoulSemicon.com) manufactures and packages a wide selection of light emitting diodes (LEDs) for the automotive, general illumination lighting, appliance, signage and back lighting markets. The company is the world’s fifth largest LED supplier, holding more than 10,000 patents globally, while offering a wide range of LED technology and production capacity in areas such as “Wicop”,Simpler Structured Package-Free LED, “Acrich”,the world’s first commercially produced direct AC LED, ” Acrich MJT – Multi-Junction Technology” a proprietary family of high-voltage LEDs, and “nPola”, new LED product based on GaN technology delivers 10 times more brightness than existing LEDs.
Vadsbo Innovation – a subsidiary of Vadsbo Transformatorer AB – was established in the fall of 2009 with a focus to develop products in lighting control, particularly control of the LEDs. The company has since been involved in several development projects. These projects include LED control gear LCC9, Control Module Push CMP, Multi-Control Module Push MCMP, LD220 universal push button dimmer in box shape for low power lamps, PWM 360 dimmer for constant voltage diodes, etc. In connection with a – for the company – big investment in a disruptive new technology for operation and control of primarily LED lighting – softSwitcher Technology – the company changes business focus and its name to SwitchTech AB and establishes itself within switching technology. The idea of a radically new technology for the operation and control of LED lighting was born in 2013, was verified in a feasibility study in 2013 and has since December 2013 been developed and embodied in a physical prototype. A patent application was filed for the new technology 2014-12-12 and trademark protected under the name brand softSwitcher.
